Kishwaukee College is committed to providing resources for students in all life aspects to ensure basic needs are available that lead to success in the classroom. The following resources help students obtain food benefits from local partners, including the College.

Kody’s Cupboard Food Pantry

Kody's Cupboard was started in 2019 by the College staff and Board of Trustees to provide supplemental resources to alleviate hunger and meet basic needs for the Kishwaukee College campus community. 

When is the food pantry open and where is it located?

For the fall 2020 semester Kody’s Cupboard will offer curbside pick only on Tuesday from 9am-2pm at the Student Center Drive in front of Door 6. Orders must be submitted by Monday at 12:00pm. Orders placed after 12:00pm will not be available until the following week, unless notified otherwise.

If you are interested in receiving food or other essentials from Kody's Cupboard, but are unable to attend the pick up or have transportation challenges, please email studentlife@kish.edu so we can explore other options.

Who is eligible?

Current Kishwaukee College students and students enrolled in GED and ESL classes.

What is provided?

Non-perishable food items and feminine hygiene product are available.

Interested in donating?

• We accept cash or check donations. They can be made out to the Kishwaukee College Foundation. Please bring donations to Administrative Office (C2160).
• Non-perishable food items can be dropped off daily to the Student Involvement Office (C1120).

Kody's Cupboard Gives Thanks Event

Kody's cupboard wants to help you with your holiday needs. Pre-order your Thanksgiving Starter Kit* just in time for the holidays. Order by November 16th at 12 pm for Pick-up on November 17th between 9 am and 2 pm.

Kit includes:

• $25 Aldi gift card
• 2 cans of green beans
• 1 can of cream corn
• 1 box of stuffing
• 1 box of scalloped potatoes
• 1 package of turkey gravy
• 1 can of cranberry sauce
• 1 can of fruit cocktail
• 1 roll of toilet paper

*No substitutions will be granted.

My Express Pantry

My Express Pantry provides a free online shopping guide for groceries in the DeKalb and North Chicago areas.

SNAP: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program IL Department of Human Services 

SNAP (food stamps) is a food assistance program that helps low-income people buy food. Benefits can be used to purchase food items at grocery stores and convenience stores. Benefits are put on a LINK card. Your SNAP unit size is anyone you buy and prepare food with, it does not have to include everyone you live with.
