Timetable of Election Deadlines

September 15, 2020 Nominating petitions for seats on the Kishwaukee College Board of Trustees will be available at College’s campus at 21193 Malta Road, Malta, IL.*
September 22, 2020
First day to circulate nomination papers. Must be original sheets signed by voters and circulators.
December 14, 2020
First day for filing in office of the local election official. Original nominating petitions must contain original sheets signed by voters and circulators.
December 21, 2020 - 5pm
Last day for filing in office of the local election official original nomination petitions. A minimum of 50 signatures are required. The Statement of Economic Interest must be filed on or before this date with the DeKalb County Clerk's office and the receipt must be filed on or before this date with the local election official who received the nomination papers.
December 22, 2020 - at 9:00am
Lottery (if needed) for any individuals simultaneously turning in their petitions at the administrative office (C-1100) at 9:00 am or in the first mail delivery of the day. (Candidate need not be present at the lottery)
December 22, 2020 - at 9:30 am
Lottery (if needed) for any individuals simultaneously turning in their petitions at the administrative office (C-1100) at 5:00 pm or in the last hour of the day. (Candidate need not be present at the lottery)
December 29, 2020 at 5 pm
Last day for filing objections to nominating petitions of candidates in the office of the local election official or designee.

CONSOLIDATED ELECTION

*Petitions and all other related filing materials may be obtained in the Office of Human Resources at Kishwaukee College any time during regular office hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and by appointment only on Friday’s.  The office is located on the first floor of Kishwaukee College’s Student Center, Room C1100 on the Malta campus.The election is conducted by the county clerk of each county in which Kishwaukee College is located.  Nominating petitions are obtained and filed at Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL.

Number of Open Positions

Trustees are elected at-large from Kishwaukee College District 523.  Two, six-year term, seats on the Board will be filled in the consolidated election April 6, 2021.  Trustees whose terms expire are Dr. Roberta (Bobbi) Burke, Rochelle, IL and Mr. Ken Doubler of DeKalb, IL.

Filing Period

Petitions for the office of Kishwaukee College Trustee are to be filed between December 14 and December 21, 2020 in the Human Resources Office (C-1100). The office will be open between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm on December 14, 2020 - December 17, 2020, Friday, December 18, 2020 by appointment only, and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Monday, December 21, 2020 at which time the following documents must be on file:

  • Statement of Candidacy
  • Nominating Petition Sheets totaling 50 or more signatures and property notarized
  • Receipt for filing a Statement of Economic Interest with the DeKalb County Clerk specifically for the office of Kishwaukee College Trustee
  • Loyalty Oath (optional)
